Just install them. Looks and feel like the OEM product (same diameter and lift support. My 100 lb 5 ft tall wife had no issue closing the backgate). It was a simple push installation (with a gentle help from a rubber mallet).DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE REMOVE THE CLIPS TO INSTALL THE NEW STRUCTS. IT IS TOTALLY UN-NECESSARY AND MAKE THE INSTALLATION MORE COMPLICATED AND TIME CONSUMING. But I did remove the clips to make it easier to remove the old structs.Will revise my review if the structs fails in the near future but so far they are working great.Note: Make sure you support the backgate properly. You don't want it to crash down on you. Wear a pair of safety glasses when removing the clips.
